Øytun (2022)

Materials: Steel, Aluminium, Induction Speakers, Cassette


        "Øytun" explores the relationship between objects and memories. The form is informed by my mother’s background as an interior designer. The finish of the aluminium echoes the long salt-stained Norwegian winters. As a whole, the piece operates as a playable instrument sampling a recording from a choir that my mother sang in during high school. The audio is played through touch and is produced by vibrating the metal structure.
